It's officially summer, and the heat is on, on The NOR CAL Report! This week, Giants speedster Andres Torres joins the lads for a zip through the Giants clubhouse and Andres's career, from Puerto Rico to his new Nor Cal home. There's no bettertime to talk sports than the Bay Bridge Series, part two.
The A's still struggle to plate enough men, but have already avenged the sweep in S.F. with a first-round victory at the Coliseum...
The Giants, meanwhile, get swept by the Angels, only to turn around and do the same to Texas. So what does their roller coaster week mean forthe G-Men's playoff hopes — and the new-fangled AL West?

Don't worry, you're all stars — on The NOR CAL Report!
UP NEXT: It's an All-Star special, as Jess and Lex share their picks for baseball's Midsummer Classic. Meanwhile, the Warriors and Kings do their best to screw up — oops, build — the futures of their respective franchises through the NBA draft.

Even those inside the game don't know what to do with Don Fehr's waning career. In the wake of the union head's retirement, only a few things are clear. One: the MLB Player's Association is immeasurably stronger than when he took over. Two: You're not getting the 1994 World Series back. That means you, Washtreal Nationspos...
Not for nothin', but Lex and I are saddened to hear that Brad Pitt will not, for the moment, be playing Billy Beane on screen. But as odd a duck as it seems, the Moneyball movie project may not be dead yet...
Condolences to the Papa family this week, as Greg's brother Gary was lost to cancer this week. The Giants recently lost one of their own, as well, as Dusty Rhodes, who once shared an outfield with Willie Mays, passed away at 82...
And while the name Barrett Robbins is not exactly uplifting to most local sports fans, it's good to see the former Raider may finally have the upper hand against his many demons...
Nice to see Marty Lurie favorite Fenton's Creamery is benefitting nicely from some clever product placement in the new Disney-Pixar collaboration, UP — not a half-bad movie by the way, even for your adult-types.
